“Everyone was busy discussing their offers just now, but Mr. Moreno, you’ve remained quiet and composed. I’m curious what kind of offer you have in mind for my products.”
Gary responded with a sudden smile, and a sly glint appeared in his sharp eyes.
“What kind of offer can I make? Mr. Martin, it’s clear you orchestrated this meeting to draw me in, didn’t you?”
Jason’s expression darkened. He hadn’t anticipated that this clever man would catch on so quickly.
Gary pressed on, “So, tell me, Mr. Martin. Why go through all this? I can’t imagine you’d really offer such cutting-edge building material at a low price.”
As he spoke, Gary’s eyes narrowed, hinting at the danger lurking beneath his calm demeanor.
Meanwhile, although Gary had already left the company, his secretary stayed until the end of the workday.
Fortunately, Jason texted Chelsey, promising to buy her some time.
Without his help, Chelsey wouldn’t have known what to do.
Jason’s timing was perfect. Most of Gary’s employees left work early on Sundays.
She cautiously avoided the security cameras as she approached Gary’s office door.
The smart lock on the door saved her some trouble.
Although she didn’t know the password, she was confident Karl, a top hacker, could crack the code.
Following Karl’s instructions, she activated the smart lock’s keypad and let Karl remotely control her laptop via Wi-Fi. It didn’t take long for him to crack the code.
Chelsey was impressed by Karl’s skills. He truly was an exceptional hacker.
Chelsey quickly entered Gary’s office. She inserted the flash drive into Gary’s computer as soon as she found it.
However, the computer didn’t recognize the flash drive. Anxious, Chelsey quickly contacted Karl.
“Turn your phone’s camera on,” Karl instructed.
Chelsey complied, growing curious about Karl’s appearance.
As expected, Karl had his webcam covered and his voice digitally altered. He spoke to Chelsey with a robotic tone.
“Point the camera at the computer.”
Chelsey followed his instructions step by step.
After a while, Karl’s voice changer conveyed, “It seems the owner has secured the computer well. Once an unknown drive is detected, all files will be locked.”
Chelsey’s heart sank. She feared she would fail. “What? Is there nothing we can do?” she asked anxiously.
