Chapter 706: Chapter 705: Who is More Despicable_1 Chapter 706: Chapter 705: Who is More Despicable_1 “Wait-” Nan Fei caught Huo Beijiang’s clothes as he was about to leave. “Did something happen? Tell me! I don’t like being kept in the dark.”
In her previous life, she had been kept in the dark over and over again, like a blind person, like a deaf person.
This life, she absolutely wouldn’t allow that to happen again.
Huo Beijiang was imperturbable, and the corner of his mouth lifted into a rogue smile, “What could happen? Don’t overthink.”
“Really?” Nan Fei was clearly skeptical.
Huo Beijiang advanced one step, bending slightly and bringing his handsome face close to Nan Fei’s. She assumed he might do something inappropriate in public.
Nan Fei looked at his handsome face at close proximity, her flustered reflection mirrored in his deep-set eyes. She felt embarrassed to press him further and quickly left with Jiang Yang.
“Hey!”
Huo Beijiang shouted from behind, but Nan Fei only walked faster, and behind her, someone was letting out an amused chuckle.
It wasn’t until Nan Fei’s figure was no longer in sight that Huo Beijiang let the smile fall from his face. His eyes grew serious, a terrifying coldness lurking beneath his gaze.
“Bei Jiang, you’re quite an act at this now.” Wei Qin’s voice came up from behind him.
Huo Beijiang did not pay him much heed. Truthfully, he had heard Wei Qin’s voice when he had first arrived. He turned his head to look at him irritably, “Nosy!”
“When you came to me for help, you weren’t like this,” Wei Qin watched him amicably, his eyes gentle and his mood seemingly quite good. “Do you not want my help in the future?”
“Despicable!” someone else snorted coldly.
Wei Qin laughed deeper at these words, “Quite a compliment, coming from Bei Jiang. I’m flattered. I’ve always envied how everyone else always publicly or privately called you despicable.”
Since childhood, Huo Beijiang had been the undisputed troublemaker in the family. There wasn’t anything he didn’t dare do, and given his seniority, no one dared confront him even when he bullied the younger kids.
If anybody did confront him, they would likely have to end up apologizing as well.
It wasn’t until Huo Beijiang left with Zhou Yongxian and Huo Linong, that the whole family celebrated, relieved of his tyranny.
Compared to Huo Beijiang, Wei Qin was the complete opposite. He was the perfect ‘other people’s child’ in the eyes of all the parents, the one loved and adored by everyone.
Only Huo Beijiang knew, Wei Qin was not as good as everyone said he was!
“Hehe, want to be like me? Just tag along with me and I can teach you.”
“Sure!” Wei Qin replied crisply.
“By the way! Are you disabled now?” Huo Beijiang’s eyes landed on Wei Qin’s leg, his glance somewhat complex. “You could still walk before! How did you become disabled?”
Weiqin twitched at the corner of his mouth, even after recuperating well, being called disabled to his face was a bit much to handle.
Of everyone in Imperial City, only Huo Beijiang had the audacity to say this to his face.
“No!” Wei Qin explained: “I had surgery a while ago and I’m still recovering. The doctor won’t let me leave the hospital. But I hate hospitals. So, the compromise was to get a wheelchair to prevent any strenuous activity.”
“As long as you’re not disabled.” Huo Beijiang clicked his tongue. Wei Qin looked slightly relieved, until Huo Beijiang added, “But, you do resemble a disabled person in your current state.”
