“The flowers are lovely, but these sugary words are too much. I haven’t encountered such overdone flattery in ages,” Linda commented.

Sigrid joined her and compared the note with one from the previous day, confirming the handwriting matched.

“I remember reading online that in today’s world, writing a letter is the ultimate sign of thoughtfulness. Even a card has its charm,” Sigrid commented.

Linda couldn’t help but voice her disdain, “Sure, but could he not think of something more original to say? It’s giving me the creeps.”

Giselle pulled her gaze away from the card, deep in thought. She‘ brushed it off as a dull prank. It felt like someone was using her for their amusement. A range of potential pranksters crossed her mind, yet she dismissed them just as quickly.

Giselle looked over at the delivery man, who had a sudden realization and exclaimed, “Hey, didn’t you ask me to snap a picture of whoever sent those flowers yesterday? I managed to take one on the sly, but I can’t promise it’s clear because of the angle. Take a look at this guy. Do you know him?”

The delivery man took out his phone to show Giselle the photo.

Giselle examined the somewhat blurry photo. The delivery man likely hurried, causing the photo to capture trailing shadows of the figure.

Despite the blur, Giselle recognized the person instantly. It was Griffin!

Nellie, catching a glimpse, recognized Griffin and gasped in disbelief. “How is it him?”

Giselle and Nellie exchanged glances of surprise and skepticism, piquing Linda’s curiosity even further.

“Who’s this Griffin everyone’s talking about?” Leaning over, Linda glimpsed the photo on the phone and saw that the delivery man hadn’t exaggerated. The man in the photo could indeed pass for a runway model with his striking looks and tall frame.

Nellie, adopting a grave tone, shared, “He’s related to the CEO of Shaw Group. He once sought to ingratiate himself with Miss Murphy for reasons that remain a mystery.”

Concerned, Linda stated, “People in the corporate world can be quite cunning. Giselle, it’s important to stay vigilant.”

Meanwhile, Sigrid had already begun to dig up information on Griffin on her smartphone.

In Sliton, only a select few corporations ever made it to the elite circle. The Murphy Group and the Clifford Group were at the forefront, with the Shaw Group trailing just behind them.

Sigrid looked up from her phone, seemingly worried. “There’s something about Griffin’s looks that unsettles me.”

Giselle, her gaze clouded with unspoken thoughts, settled beside the bed and said nonchalantly, “He’s related to the Shaw > family from Hedsall. Five years back, he set foot in Sliton alone, determined to carve out his own path. I used to admire his determination, yet his recent attempts to approach me have left me puzzled.”

The fact that Matias had been wanting to cooperate with Lucian while Griffin kept trying to approach her raised a question in her mind. What motives could be driving Matias

‘ and Griffin’s actions? Linda, taking Sigrid’s phone, quickly browsed through Griffin’s profile.

With a shrug, Linda voiced her growing suspicion, “Anyway, I’m wary of anyone bearing the name Griffin. Perhaps we should dispose of these roses. Who knows what he might have tampered with?”

The delivery man still stood there and immediately chimed in, “Ma’am, our network spans nationally. We guarantee our flowers cause no problems. We pick them from the garden right after receiving an order.”

Only then did Linda notice the delivery man’s lingering presence. Feeling embarrassment had painted her cheeks, she coughed and responded, “I apologize. My comment about the flowers was out of line.”

Giselle reached for the delivery slip from the delivery man and signed her name before handing it back. “Please decline any flower orders from Mr. Shaw to me in the future. I’LL cover the cost of these flowers separately.”
