Chapter 462: Chapter 462: The Cliched Relative Relationships (2)

The bullet was handed over, and Dr. Song took off his gloves before finally turning his attention back to Lu Wanwan.

“Dr. Song, she just called someone here,” the nurse still very vigilant, reported again, “She said it was her friend, and only decided to call him after seeing the face of that gentleman inside.”

Dr. Song’s eyebrows lifted upon hearing this and he asked, “Bai Lingyun?”

Lu Wanwan nodded in surprise, not only spontaneously guessing it but also showing no sign of astonishment.

Seeing her confusion, Dr. Song explained, “It’s not strange, seeing his face, one can only think of him.”

What was strange was her act of calling Bai Lingyun over.

“Ah?” the nurse’s eyes lit up, “Really?”

Dr. Song looked composed, “Just be mindful of your appearance later, we are not any ordinary hospital, don’t overreact and gawk as if you’ve never seen the world.”

“Indeed, I haven’t seen it before…” the nurse shrugged, “Sis, how are you so sure she called Bai Lingyun?”

Dr. Song sized her up, his gaze enigmatic.

He didn’t answer the nurse’s question but nodded at Lu Wanwan, “Please come with me for a moment, I’d like to understand more about the patient’s prior condition.”

Lu Wanwan followed him to Dr. Song’s office, which was refreshingly bright and sunny, hardly resembling a typical doctor’s consultation room.

Especially under the sunlight, there were numerous green plants in pots, lending a particularly fresh look.

“It seems the incident didn’t happen too long ago,” Dr. Song muttered to himself, then looked at her and said, “Haven’t you been curious? You only just called Bai Lingyun, but you hadn’t seen his face earlier, you need not worry about this trouble.”

Lu Wanwan couldn’t say whether she felt annoyment or something else, but she simply shrugged, “I also know I shouldn’t have interfered, but I couldn’t just throw him in the taxi and leave. The driver wouldn’t go.”

Dr. Song smiled and extended his hand, “Song Ning. This hospital is owned by my father, and now I am in charge.”

“Lu Wanwan.”

She drew back her hand, although with a slight smile, she still couldn’t be said to be particularly kind or gentle.

Seemingly thoughtful, she said, “May I ask for a favor, although it’s a bit presumptuous, I currently have no other choice.”

“Go ahead.”

Song Ning looked at her and said, “I’d like you to, in a couple of days, take him to the airport.”

“Me?”

She nodded, “I’ll be occupied in a few days, and the people here… aren’t quite suitable; someone might come investigating. He’s leaving with injuries, and I’m a bit concerned. Just getting him on the plane would be enough.”

If Bai Lingyun had made this request, she probably would have agreed without a second thought, as it was right to help a little.

But this lady and she were hardly acquainted, she said after consideration, “I need to see how things are, I can’t promise a hundred percent.”

“Alright, but I hope you can keep this matter confidential, whether or not you agree to help. Keep it secret from everyone, I’m a bit worried.”

While they were still talking, there was a knock on the office door.

“Come in,” Song Ning turned her head.

The door opened, the nurse’s face beaming with a smile, “Mr. Bai is here.”

Bai Lingyun walked in, glanced at Lu Wanwan, and nodded, “Thanks.”

Then he turned his gaze to Song Ning, his phoenix eyes slightly deepening, “What’s going on?”

Song Ning resumed her professional demeanor, businesslike in tone, “What’s going on you must already know, right? A bullet hit his right ribs, it’s been removed now, we’re treating the wound. The good news is, there are no life-threatening concerns.”
