I can vouch that it was Constance and her group who started bullying Rainie. Dilan just went to demand an apology, but they refused and even spat at him. They provoked him until he slapped Constance, but he didn’t do anything beyond that.”

Ava’s voice was clear, her words cutting through the tension. She believed in Rosalynn’s ability to make a difference-not just as a writer, but as the heiress of the influential Moreno family and the CEO’s wife of the Hughes Group.

Ava was no longer scared of standing up to Constance.

“You’re lying!” Constance snapped. She glared at Ava with eyes narrowed into slits.

“Exactly,” another voice from Constance’s group added. “Where’s your proof? You say we bullied Rainie, but no one saw anything.”

“Of course, you’d take Rainie’s side. She’s your friend! We all watched the surveillance footage. There was nothing there!”

“Don’t stir up trouble, Ava,” another girl sneered, her tone dismissive.

Constance’s group of followers continued to throw jabs at Ava, trying to intimidate her.

Ava stood frozen, her shoulders hunched under the weight of those glares. She had long since learned to shrink back, swallowing her words rather than daring to speak.

Rainie stepped forward, her fists trembling at her sides. Her voice quivered as she spoke. “Rosalynn, Ava’s telling the truth. They bullied me first. The surveillance didn’t catch it because Mr. Simmons tampered with it. He’s been covering for Constance and the others. They’re all working together.”

Nigel’s face twisted in anger, his glare sharp enough to cut. “Rainie, mind your tongue. How dare you accuse me of such nonsense? Do you want me to take you to court for slander?”

Rainie’s eyes burned with unshed tears, but she held her ground. “I’m telling the truth. You’ve been taking their bribes and covering up for them all along,” she shot back, her voice steady despite the ache in her chest.

Nigel’s lips curled into a sneer. “You are stirring up trouble.”

“That’s enough from both of you,” Marcus interjected, his voice calm but firm, He turned to Rosalynn with a polite nod. “Mrs. Hughes, I presume? I’m Marcus Harrington, the school’s vice principal.”

The principal had informed him that Rosalynn, the daughter of the Moreno family in Skrix and the wife of the Hughes Group’s CEO, would be visiting the school.

The poised woman before him certainly was of such class.

Rosalynn nodded gracefully, her calm composure a stark contrast to the charged atmosphere. “Yes, I’m Rosalynn Hughes,” she replied. “Could you explain the situation to me?” she asked gracefully.

“Of course.”
