“Got it.”

At ten-thirty in the evening, a message alert jolted Sierra awake from her slumber. Still groggy, she fought off her frustration and reached for her phone. The moment she saw the text was from the detective, she felt wide awake.

The message included a photo. In the dim light, only the villa’s entrance was visible, illuminated by outdoor lamps. Two figures were walking toward a car-one adult and one child, both bundled up against the cold. The adult appeared to be a woman. It was almost certainly Sabrina.

Sierra stared at the photo, stunned. Was there really a child being kept at Etheid Villa? Could the child’s parents actually be Sabrina and Blayze?

As Sierra processed this possibility, a wave of jealousy swept over her, sharp and impossible to ignore. She had feelings for Blayze, but he had never shown the slightest interest in her. She also liked Tyrone, but he barely acknowledged her existence. And yet, Sabrina had managed to win over both of them—two exceptional men, completely out of her reach.

Why? Sierra couldn’t accept it. It felt unfair, infuriating even.

For a while now, Sierra had dreamed of making Blayze the father of her next child. If she had to go through pregnancy again, she wanted the father to be someone she truly desired. But she knew Blayze would never agree to it willingly. So, she had secretly prepared some drugs. Her plan was simple: if she got pregnant, she could ask for Horace’s help to persuade Blayze. She was sure that, for the sake of the baby, Blayze wouldn’t act against her.

Even if Blayze didn’t want the child, he would always feel some love for his firstborn. That was how it had worked between Horace and Blayze, wasn’t it?

Sierra had always believed that, with this plan, she would have someone to count ‘on forever. But now, things had changed. Blayze already had a child, and the mother was Sabrina, who was favored by Horace.

Sierra frowned as she pondered whether to proceed with her plan.

Sierra lay restless in bed, unable to drift off to sleep. Suddenly, she heard a baby crying in the next room. The wailing continued for a while before finally fading.

Frustrated, Sierra yanked the quilt over her head. How had her life ended up in such a mess?

She grabbed her phone and opened a chat window. She typed out a message, her thumb hovering over the send button, but then she remembered the time difference. It was the middle of the night on the other side of the world.

With a weary sigh, she erased the message and turned off her phone.

Time passed slowly as Sierra lay there, staring into the darkness. Finally, she checked the clock, tossed aside the covers, and got out of bed. It was time to head to the hospital. She would rather spend every day at the hospital with Rita than deal with her own child.

Just as Sierra was about to step into the hospital, someone blocked her path.

“Miss Rivera, Mr. Fowler wants to see you. Please come with me.”

Sierra stopped and recognized the man as Blayze’s assistant. Stunned, she asked, “Blayze wants to see me? Why? What’s going on?”

“You’ll know soon enough.”

Uncertain but curious, Sierra followed the assistant and got into the car without asking more questions.

After a short drive, the car pulled up in front of a building-Blayze’s villa in the heart of the city.

As Sierra walked through the gate, her eyes took in the courtyard. Smooth, gray tiles formed a neat path, and the space was beautifully arranged.

Square flower beds held roses in full bloom, their colors vibrant even in the chill of late winter, adding life and charm to the scene.

The living room was tastefully designed, blending sophistication with simplicity. The furniture featured smooth, flowing lines, and the neutral palette of white, gray, and beige gave the space a bright, welcoming feel.
