Bryson Looked at her with concern, his brows furrowed. “How’s your health?” he asked softly.

“I’m fine. You know me, strong as always!” Hannah teased with a playful smile.

Just then, the doctor who had examined her earlier hurried down the hallway, a look of urgency on his face. “Miss Moore!” The doctor called, hurrying over to Hannah while holding the report. “Mr. Mitchell, you’re here too— perfect!” he added, glancing between them with a serious expression.

“Is there a problem with my report?” Hannah asked, puzzled by the doctor’s sudden urgency.

“No,” the doctor quickly reassured her. “Congratulations! We’ve discovered you’re pregnant!”

Hannah blinked, her mind racing as she processed the unexpected news. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she took the report, her voice tinged with confusion. “But we took precautions…” She narrowed her eyes and turned to Bryson. “Did you do something behind my back?”

Bryson looked at her, his expression one of mock hurt. “I’m innocent!” he protested, his voice playful yet sincere. “I would never go against what you asked me to do!” As he spoke, Bryson pulled Hannah into his ams, his voice softening. “My dear wife, I really didn’t do it on purpose.”

His apologetic attitude was evident.

“Yes, ma’am!” They saluted, then immediately turned and chased after Bryson.

Bryson blinked, wide-eyed. “Are you serious, my dear?” he asked, his voice a mix of surprise and disbelief as he quickly dodged the two men closing in on him.
